This classic English card game has a long and honourable history, It is believed to have been invesnted by Sir John Suckling who died in 1642, although it is more likely that Sir John modified and popularised an existing game. Certainly Charles II played whilst exiled in France and by the beginning of the 18th Century it was played as whidely as Whist.
It's continuing popularity is due to it being one of the few card games which can be played equally enjoyably by 2, 3 or 4 players. A game will take about 20 - 30 minutes and can be played simply for fun, or for small stakes as in pubs. Scores are kept by placing pegs in the holes of the "Cribbage Board" which is formed when this set is opened out. The rules are not complicated and are included in this set.
